Shelter shows Lane County shelter programs with their reported open beds, who each one serves, and the first step to get in. A bed count is reported, not reserved, so call before you go.

Find tonight’s open beds#

  1. Read the top line

    Under Lane County Shelter Finder you’ll see reported openings, how many programs LaneHelp tracks, and when the latest update came in. Counts use each program’s units, which may mean beds, family spaces, or vehicle spaces. Tap the opening count to show programs reporting openings.

  2. Scan the programs

    Programs reporting open beds come first. Each shows who it’s for, a status such as Open, Limited, Full, or Unknown, the bed count, and when it last updated.

  3. Open a program

    Tap it to see About, First step, and Access. Some programs need a referral, screening, or Coordinated Entry before you can go. The first step tells you which.

  4. Call, then go

    Tap the phone number to call. Directions shows the place on the LaneHelp map, and Program info opens the program’s own page.

Narrow the list#

Tap Filters for All programs, Open beds, Call-first, and Full, plus groups such as Adults, Families, Youth, Cold / overflow, and DV / safety when they have programs. Each choice shows a count. The search box takes a program name, an address, or words like “warming center.” Clear all filters puts everything back.

How fresh the numbers are#

While Shelter is open, LaneHelp checks Lane County’s shelter availability page about every five minutes. Each program also shows when it last updated, and the older that time, the more the phone call matters. If LaneHelp can’t refresh, a notice says you’re looking at the last snapshot.

Print or share the list#

On a computer or tablet, Print opens a one-page snapshot of programs reporting openings, with a QR code back to the live board. Share gives you a link and a QR code; if you typed a search, the link keeps it. Under the list, Related help links to safe parking, homeless services, and emergency resources.

Questions people ask

Can I reserve a bed through LaneHelp?
No. LaneHelp lists these programs; it doesn’t run them or hold beds. The program handles intake.
Does an open bed mean I can walk in?
Not always. Some programs need a referral, screening, or Coordinated Entry first. Open the program to read its first step.
What if every program shows Full?
Open the programs marked Call-first; their first step explains how intake works. In bad weather, look for the Cold / overflow group, and see safe parking for vehicle options.
How often do the numbers change?
LaneHelp refreshes the board about every five minutes while it’s open. Programs report on their own schedules, so check the update time on each one.
